Founded in 2013, PrismND is Notre Dame’s first and only official LGBTQ+ undergraduate student organization. We are dedicated to fostering the campus LGBTQ+ community and raising awareness of our needs by hosting a variety of events: from our weekly HangOuts to annual, campus-wide events like Stand Against Hate Week.
As a student organization, PrismND holds weekly official meetings to plan events and activities for the community. Attendance at these meetings is open to all — both queer students and student allies are welcome to contribute and even join one of our committees. In addition to weekly HangOuts and Organizational meetings, officers hold office hours throughout the week. Please refer to the resources tab for an up-to-date schedule, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up for our weekly newsletter.

How can an LGBTQ organization exist at Notre Dame? Doesn’t that go against the Catholic values of the university?
Nope! Catholic theology does not at all condemn the gathering of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and questioning students as a means of offering support for each other. We believe that respecting the human dignity of LGBTQ youth requires providing a space for peer support, just as we seek to cultivate. Want to know more about how our work fits into the Catholic mission of Notre Dame? Check out the Pastoral Plan for LGBTQ students at Notre Dame at friendsandallies.nd.edu.
Can I join Prism if I don’t identify as LGBTQ, or if I’m not Catholic?
Of course! We welcome everyone to our organization – Catholic or otherwise – and we deeply appreciate the support that straight allies at Notre Dame have given us during our time on campus.
I’m a constitutional nerd and want to know all about Prism’s bylaws. Where can I find this magical document!?
